Rise Up With Your Thoughts

Day 3: Rise off the shortcomings. Master what is already in hand.

Father, I dropped the ball in getting to this earlier today, as suggested to work towards. I have much work to do in putting my life in order. I'm commencing a new job in just over a week, and will not have the luxury of writing in the evenings. I am weak, and as King Benjamin puts it, "an unworthy creature."¹ Nevertheless, I turn to Thee in the name of Christ Jesus, knowing that it is not the flesh that I trust in, but the merits of Him who gives grace to be more than I can on my own.² And in Him who is mighty to save do I rejoice daily, and retain a remission of my sins continually, and grow in the knowledge of Thee and Thy ways more and more.³

In short, I rejoice in Thy plan of happiness that redeems me, stretches me, and blesses me to be more than I can on my own. Even a place that prepares me to receive all that Thou hast, line upon line. Further, I thank Thee for blessing me with the strength to face my resolve and do the work, and to build the spiritual muscle memory to do the work Thou hast given me, that I may build upon it and increase in stature before Thee and my fellow men as I keep Thy commandments, even if tardy.⁴ And I thank Thee for the forgiving and stretching nature that draws me closer to Thee, enhancing my desires and increasing my level of obedience.

My son, rise up with your thoughts. Hang not down low upon the thoughts of men and your shortcomings. But continue to raise your thinking to Christ. Doubt not. Fear not.⁵
